■ Implementing teaching innovation and improving teaching quality (Project 1–4)
Project 1. Digital teaching platform and technology integration program:
(1) Build a virtual studio and highly interactive classrooms and set up a virtual studio director and anchor system and a class recording system to assist teachers in conducting remote synchronous and asynchronous teaching.
(2) Expand the teaching tools available on the iMagic e-learning system.
(3) Guide teacher students in using the iMagic e-learning system (397 students registered for the teaching internship in 2022).
Project 2. Enhance the teachers’ professional development support system
(1) Workshop for new teachers (between 2018 and 2022, 62 new teachers have benefitted from such workshops).
(2) Recruit and retain teachers with exceptional performance (between 2018 and 2022, 52 teachers have been awarded).
(3) Five volumes (10 issues) of the Journal of Teaching Practice and Pedagogical Innovation were published between 2018 and 2022; these volumes were added to the international database EBSCO in 2022, and the application for inclusion in the TSSCI has been completed.
Project 3. Cultivate a new generation of cross-language and cross-field slash youths:
(1) Establish an interdisciplinary expertise course module that integrates Chinese, professional English, and programming language courses for multicareer youths.
(2) By June 2020, 686 students had graduated with a bachelor’s degree and completed a second specialization or advanced courses; they constituted 88.3% of the fresh graduates in the day school undergraduate program.
Project 4. Integrate and improve the student learning, career counseling, and innovation and entrepreneurship support systems:
(1) Reinforce the student learning and career development support system, administer a learning strategy questionnaire, and analyze the questionnaire results.
(2) In total, 36 faculty members have acquired certifications related to global career development, and 122 questionnaires have been administered and analyzed.
(3) Host innovation and entrepreneurship competitions (354 teams participated in such competitions between 2018 and 2022).
■ Developing school characteristics (Project 5 and 6)
Project 5. Cultivate outstanding elementary school teachers for investment in future resources:
(1) The school’s pass rate of the teacher qualification examination has been higher than the national pass rate every year, and teacher admission rate is excellent.
(2) The digital teaching materials have been read more than 240,000 times (cumulative), and 2,337 subscribers have been added.
(3) To strengthen the English skills of student teachers, bilingual teaching empowerment workshops and practical lectures have been held, and they have achieved a satisfaction rate of up to 90%.
(4) Formulate Phenomenon-Based Learning Guidelines. Launch 11 phenomenon-based learning courses to enable student teachers to develop phenomenon-based learning design abilities.
Project 6. Develop the International Alliance of Educational Universities, constructing a global learning network:
(1) Construct a global learning network. To date, NTUE has established partnerships with 116 sister schools overseas and accepted 118 foreign students.
(2) Host an international master’s degree program, which is taught in English, to cultivate outstanding talents who specialize in teaching innovation and Asia–Pacific art.
(3) Build a high-quality Chinese language learning base.
(4) Establish a Southeast Asia regional management master’s degree program (97% of its students have graduated and are active in relevant professions).
■ Fulfill Social Responsibility (Project 7 and 8)
Project 7. Innovate and develop a healthy and happy community by applying knowledge acquired in school:
(1) Cultivate students’ online psychological counseling ability and create a qualified and legal psychological counseling space for the community.
(2) Launch immersive bilingual physical education courses and publish bilingual physical education teaching materials, thereby facilitating the creation of a healthy living environment.
Project 8. Promote industry–academia partnerships that focus on environmental sustainability to facilitate positive social development:
(1) Plan, design, and propose at least 10 specific sustainable development projects for maintaining cultural assets and facilitating active, innovative management.
(2) Create the channel NTUE OpenCourseWare, introduce relevant incentives and promotional events, and host lectures related to the incorporation of digital technology into teaching activities.
■ Strengthening the publicity of higher education (Project 9 and 10)
Project 9. Ensure the quality of school affairs research and decision-making:
(1) Actively improve school affairs–related research, analysis, and application.
(2) In total, 70 topics have been analyzed in executive meetings to facilitate discussions and decision-making relating to the development of higher education cultivation projects.
Project 10. Support the “Assist Disadvantaged Students in Realizing Their Dream”:
(1) Improve diversified enrollment opportunities and provide all-round support with respect to food, clothing, housing, and transportation needs.
(2) NTUE alumni have raised NT$2.4 million, and the school’s ongoing fundraising efforts ensure that students with disadvantages can focus on their studies.
