University Career and Competency Assessment Network (UCAN) career interest exploration

The freshmen are led by career advisors from different departments to use the UCAN platform, which is developed by the Ministry of Education, for exploring career interest, conducting assessment, and interpreting the results. The aim of the UCAN platform is to assist freshmen in finding out the most suitable career types for them through the analysis of their interests, traits, and preferences. Furthermore, the results from the UCAN platform would help them create a professional development plan for their future.

English for Specific Purposes Courses

Center of General Education

To improve the ability of global competence for students, the Center of General Education offers a variety of ESP courses that help students to acquire the knowledge of specific fields. Furthermore, students could also foster their intercultural competence in English while practicing certain tasks in these fields. The ESP courses offered by our center could extend to different areas, such as English for Teaching Purposes, English for MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition), English for Information Technology, and Media English.

Foreign Language Test Award

Center for Teaching and Learning Development 

Subsidy students who pass the foreign language proficiency test, including English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, etc. will be rewarded with half of the registration fee, and each award fee shall not exceed 1,000 yuan. Each student is limited to one award per language per year.

NSTC Research project for college student  

During 2020-2023 school year, total of 49 research projects by the students of this university were subsidized by NSTC, in the fields of natural science, science and engineering, science and education, education, humanities, etc. The projects recognized by NSTC received a subsidy of NTD 6,000 per student per month for a period of 8 months.

Based on the “professional standard-based” teacher training policy and idea, the university actively promotes the test mechanism of teacher education students’ basic ability in teaching to further strengthen the professionalism of teachers in various teacher training departments. Each community receives a subsidy of NTD 5,000 every semester, with the purposes to encourage students organizing study communities according to their learning themes or interests, such as foreign language, cross-disciplinary learning, etc. Students can enhance their learning effectiveness through the synergy of peer learning and knowledge sharing.

Study Buddy

Center for Teaching and Learning Development 

For students who need further help in learning, they are paired with sophomores or above with excellent academic performances as their study buddy. The study buddies are on duty shifts at the Creative Future Learning Center of the library, department office, or other designated locations, to provide academic consultation.

 

Overseas study course

The course or co-taught course within each department/graduate school, Office of Teacher Education, and degree program shall receive subsidy for 1 program maximum per year. The subsidy amount of the Oversea study may range from TWD$15,000 to TWD$37,500 depending on the regions.

International Conference Attendance Subsidy (PhD Students) 

The Subsidy was to encourage our PhD students to attend international conferences overseas and present their thesis in English. Each applicant may be provided a subsidy no more than once per year. The grant amount may range from TWD$20,000 to TWD$35,000 depending on the regions.

In order to help students exploring their career development, adapting to campus life, and keeping up with academic study, the guidance teacher in each class offers a “Office Hour” to provide students with consultation service in various aspects. Meanwhile, it can increase the teacher-student interaction.

An Application for Pilot Overseas Scholarships and Internships of the Ministry of Education 

In order to encourage the outstanding students to study abroad, the university assists those students to apply for “Pilot Overseas Scholarships” hosted by the Ministry of Education from January to March every year. The amount of subsidy is NTD 50,000-300,000. The application for “Pilot Overseas Internships” and “Pilot Overseas Internships in New Southbound Policy” are leaded by teachers. In those programs, the teacher leads the excellent students to go abroad for overseas internship. The subsidy covers the airfare (economy class) and living expenses (maximum of 14 days for the teacher).

Pilot Overseas Scholarships

  1. Students having the nationality of ROC and having the household registered in Taiwan.
  1. Enrolled in the graduate or undergraduate program of NTUE for at least 1 semester (excluding students in overseas master’s program).
  2. During the period of studying abroad, students still need to pay the tuition and register at NTUE according to the regulations.
  1. Students whose average grade is above 80 in previous years or students who rank the top 30% in the class.
  2. Foreign language proficiency (for the use of campus review):
  1. English: 71 or above in TOEFL iBT, 197 or above in TOEFL CBT, 527 or above in TOEFL PBT, 750 or above in TOEIC, 5.5 or above in IELTS or other equivalent level, the copies of certificates should be provided.
  2. Japanese: Level N3 or above in Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) or other equivalent level, the copies of certificates should be provided.
  3. Korean: Level 3 or above in Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) or other equivalent level, the copies of certificates should be provided.
  4. French: DALF Level B1 or above, or TCF Level 3 or above or other equivalent level, the copies of certificates should be provided.
  5. German: qualified in Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD), TDN Level 3 or above in TestDaf, B1 or above in Goerhe-Zertifikat or other equivalent level, the copies of certificates should be provided.
  6. Vietnamese: Level B1 or above in International Vietnamese Proficiency Test or other equivalent level or other equivalent level, the copies of certificates should be provided.
  1. Those who have passed the selection of exchange students organized by Division of International Affairs, R&D Department, and various departments/institutions, or have applied for foreign university on their own and obtained the admission are qualified applicants.

Pilot Overseas Internships, Pilot Overseas Internships in New Southbound Policy

  1. Program host: must be the full-time teacher of NTUE and 1 co-host can be hired.
  2. Each project is limited to a single country, no more than 5 participating organizations, which should be ranked in priority.
  3. The selected students must engage in the works taken place at the participating organizations for at least 30 days, for those who in Indonesia for at least 25 days (excluding the days spent on transportation).
  4. Qualification for selected students:
  1. Students with the nationality of ROC and household registration in Taiwan.
  2. Currently enroll in NTUE for at least 1 semester, excluding the students in domestic and foreign in-service education program.
  3. Students need to be enrolled in NTUE during the internship period (excluding students of suspension of schooling).
  4. Proof of meeting the program's requirement of language and professional proficiency.

Graduate Institute Scholarships

In accordance with the scholarship regulations of each department, the maximum amount for master's students is 20,000 NT dollars per semester, while doctoral students are limited to 30,000 NT dollars per semester.

Graduate Institute Financial Aid

Limited to full-time students enrolled in the departments of this university. Recipients of the university's graduate institute financial aid are required to assist in relevant teaching and administrative counseling work.

Outstanding Performance Scholarships

Awarded to those who achieve a top-three ranking in activities organized by central government agencies at the third level or higher. Available for both national and international competitions, with individual awards capped at 8,000 NT dollars and group awards at 20,000 NT dollars. In international competitions, the amounts are doubled compared to national competitions.

Chang Yi Fu-Chih Scholarships 

Eligibility: Current students pursuing a degree or alumni who graduated within the last two years (based on October of the current year) are eligible. Must have been accepted after taking the national civil service exams (high-level, general, preliminary, grassroots special, specialized professional, and technical exams).

Qualifications: Different amounts ranging from 3,000 to 10,000 NT dollars are awarded based on the level and type of the exam, along with the presentation of certificates.

Yeh Hsia-Chai President's Scholarships

Students in their second year or above who meet all of the following conditions are eligible for a 10,000 NT dollar scholarship:

Achieved an overall academic average of 85 or above in the previous academic year.

Attained a conduct score of 80 or above in the previous academic year.

Maintained an overall average of 75 or above in sports in the previous academic year.

Have not been awarded any other scholarships.

Wang Tian-Sheng Teacher Scholarships

Open to undergraduate students of this university. Those who have not received an amount higher than this scholarship from other scholarships in the current academic year and meet either of the following conditions may apply:

Outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds: Achieved a conduct score of 80 or above in the previous academic year, ranked in the top one-third of the class academically, and not subject to school disciplinary actions. Award: 20,000 NT dollars.

Outstanding service students: Achieved a conduct score of 80 or above in the previous academic year, not subject to school disciplinary actions, and demonstrated outstanding leadership or service. Award: 10,000 NT dollars.

Professor Zhou Yulong Scholarship/Implementing Unit (Student Affairs Office, Student Assistance Division)

For students enrolled in the second year or above of the undergraduate program at our university's day division and who meet the prescribed conditions, 18 scholarships will be awarded, each worth NT$15,000 .

"Ruozhu Elite Academy Scholarship” (Office of the Secretariat)
The "Ruozhu Elite Academy Scholarship," established through fundraising, will be utilized to cultivate outstanding and exceptional students from the Department of Physical Education, Department of Arts and Design, Department of Digital Technology Design, and the Department of Cultural and Creative Industries Management. The scholarship, including the individual scholarship and training funding, will be provided based on the students’ award record and performance levels, with amounts of TWD 400,000 for the Outstanding Level, TWD 300,000 for the Excellent Level, and TWD 200,000 for the Advanced Level, aiming to encourage the students in participating in the international and local representative competitions to advance their professional skills and realize their dreams with financial support.

Our school actively strives for the "Rotary China Scholarship" from the Rotary Club. The scholarship targets: NT$135,000 for each master's program student at the university graduate school and NT$180,000 for each doctoral program student.

 

Library Orientation & Courses

To assist incoming students in obtaining a fundamental understanding of essential library resources and services to succeed in their academic pursuits, we offer Library Instruction Courses and organize Library Orientation Program each semester. Additionally, we provide “Online Library User Guides” on the library website to help incoming students quickly understand and make good use of the diverse resources and services available to them. All these services are designed to improve their research skills and productivity, thus better supporting their learning and research needs.

Our school actively strives for the "Rotary China Scholarship" from the Rotary Club. The scholarship targets: NT$135,000 for each master's program student at the university graduate school and NT$180,000 for each doctoral program student.

International Exchange and Scholarship

Exchange Student Program

To enhance students’ opportunities to study abroad and expand their international horizons, we have entered into student exchange agreements with partner institutions. Each academic year, we will select our students to go to partner institutions abroad for exchange and further study.

Dual Degree Program

Let the students obtain an international perspective, and promote international academic exchange. We select students who have excellent academic performance, are fluent in foreign languages, and have good character to join the Dual Degree Program. They will gain the degrees awarded by both universities.

MOFA "Taiwan-Europe Connection Scholarship" Program and "Erasmus+ Scholarship" Program

By participating in the "Taiwan-Europe Connection Scholarship" program sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, funding is shifted into enhancing collaboration and exchanges with European schools. It provides monthly scholarships ranging from NT$20,000 to NT$25,000 for outstanding students from European partner universities to engage in academic exchanges or Mandarin language studies in Taiwan. In conjunction with the European Union's "Erasmus+ Scholarship" program, the University of Vienna in Austria, a partner school, offers partial funding for airfare and living expenses for students and teachers from both sides to carry out educational projects, further fostering academic exchanges with European partner universities.

International Students Scholarship

The Scholarship was set to attract and support outstanding international prospective and current students to study at the University. For undergraduates, NTD$4,000 to $6,000 per person per month. For post-graduates, NTD$6,000 to $8,000 per person per month.

The official LINE account "NTUE Career Helper" provides students with career consultation appointments and related information. We organize various career-related activities every semester, such as employment and entrepreneurship skills courses, counseling seminars, workshops, and job fairs. Additionally, we have introduced a point accumulation draw event to encourage active participation from students.

GOLF Resources

Our university is a member of the GOLF Education-Industry Alignment Alliance. The platform provides a variety of online learning resources, and upon completion of the courses, participants will have priority access to internship opportunities with companies. Semester Scholarship for Undergraduate '

Requirements:

.The following standards must be met based on the student’s performance in previous semester:

(1)Academic performance of 80 points or above.

(2)Conduct performance of 85 points or above.

(3)Physical education performance of 75 points or above.

.This scholarship is awarded until first semester of fourth grade. For those meeting the above standards, the total score is calculated based on academic performance (70%), conduct performance (20%), and physical education performance (10%). For fourth-year students and those with physical education exemptions, the total score is calculated based on academic performance (80%) and conduct performance (20%).

.The top 3 students in each class are selected each semester. The winners can be awarded scholarship and a certificate of commendation and they are awarded amounts of NT$5,000, NT$4,000, and NT$3,000 respectively.

Academic Scholarship for New Graduates

Requirements:

.The total score is calculated based on the average academic performance over the first seven semesters within the duration of study.

.The top 3 students in each graduating class are selected. The winners can be awarded scholarship and a certificate of commendation and they are awarded amounts of NT$5,000, NT$4,000, and NT$3,000 respectively.
